Tutorial
This drill builds on the Pull Push Inside 'V-90°' (Static Ball Controls Drills for U8-U9) and Pull Push Inside 'V-90°' (Cones Dribbling Drills for U10-U11).
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Place the ball to the left just passed the second cone (or the first).
- Stand behind the ball (45° to the left of the direction of the cones).
- Reach for the ball with the right foot.
- At the same time:
- Pull the ball back with the right foot.
- Turn the body 45° to the right.
- Push the ball with the inside of the right foot through the cones (45° to the right).
- Close in on the ball.
- Reach for the ball with the left foot.
- At the same time:
- Pull the ball back with the left foot.
- Turn the body 45° to the left.
- Push the ball with the inside of the left foot through the cones (45° to the left).
- Continue steps 3-9.
Things to watch out for:
- Find the sweet spot as to where the ball should be pulled back in order to miss the cones with the ball and feet.
- Keep the angles accurate (from 45° to 45° = 90° total).
- Try to push the ball in the middle between two cones.
- Make sure there is enough space between the feet to push the ball in the wanted direction.
- Turn your hips wide open on the push.
