Shuffle Stepover Slide Behind Slide In - Fast Footwork Drills for U10-U11

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
  2. Shuffle 5 times starting with the right foot.
  3. On the 6th count, perform a stepover with the left foot.
  4. Roll the ball out with the left foot.
  5. Slide the ball behind (left foot) the support foot (right foot).
  6. When the ball is next to the right foot, roll the ball out with the right foot.
  7. Slide the ball in.
  8. Shuffle 5 times starting with the left foot.
  9. On the 6th count, perform a stepover with the right foot.
  10. Roll the ball out with the right foot.
  11. Slide the ball behind (right foot) the support foot (left foot).
  12. When the ball is next to the left foot, roll the ball out with the left foot.
  13. Slide the ball in.
  14. Continue steps 2-13.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Shuffle fast.
  3. Keep the stepover compact.
  4. Try to stay on the same spot as close as possible.
  5. Do the drill as smooth as possible.
