Shuffle - Fast Footwork Drills for U6-U7
Shuffle Tutorial
The Shuffle is the base for other exercises, so practise this one first.
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Bring the right foot up to half the height of the ball and touch the ball lightly with the inside of the foot to let the ball move to the other foot.
- The right foot is then placed on the ground again.
- The left foot should be up in the air before the ball arrives in order to give it a light touch to counteract its movement and to let the ball return to the right foot again.
Things to watch out for:
- The harder the touch on the ball, the faster it moves and the more quickly the player has to react.
- When the player maintains a good rhythm, only one foot is on the ground at any given time.
