Pull Backwards 1-2-3-4 Roll Forward 1-2 - Dynamic Ball Mastery Drills for U12-U13

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball in front of right foot).
  2. Pull the ball backwards with the right foot (x4).
  3. Roll the ball forward with the right foot (x2)
  4. Continue step 2.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Maintain a straight line at all times.
  3. Reposition the support foot constantly to keep the ball on that straight line.
  4. Pull/roll the ball with a straight leg from the hip to the sole of the foot.
  5. Keep the ball at a comfortably distance.
  6. Stay in the same rhythm.
  7. Anticipate on the transitions (pulling/rolling).
  8. The same distance should be covered with every pull/roll.
