Pull Push Outside - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11
Tutorial
This drill builds on the Pull Push Outside (Static Ball Control Drills for U6-U7) and the Pull Push Outside (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9).
This time the player uses both feet in alternately and jumps on the support foot while doing the exercise.
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
- Reach for the ball with the ball of the right foot.
- Pull the ball back.
- Jump on the support foot (left foot).
- Lift the foot of the ball to bring it in position to push the ball forward.
- Push the ball forward with the outside of the right foot (outside laces).
- Jump on the support foot (left foot).
- Reach for the ball with the ball of the left foot.
- Pull the ball back.
- Jump on the support foot (right foot).
- Lift the foot of the ball to bring it in position to push the ball forward.
- Push the ball forward with the outside of the left foot (outside laces).
- Jump on the support foot (right foot).
- Continue steps 2-13.
Things to watch out for:
- Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
- Bend the knee of the supporting foot a bit more on kicking the ball forward. This will help to keep the balance.
- Try to aim for the ball to reach the same spot on every push.
- Jump on the support foot for every action of the other foot (pull and push).
