Pull Push Outside - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

Pull Push Outside - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

Tutorial

This drill builds on the Pull Push Outside (Static Ball Control Drills for U6-U7) and the Pull Push Outside (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9).
This time the player uses both feet in alternately and jumps on the support foot while doing the exercise.

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
  2. Reach for the ball with the ball of the right foot.
  3. Pull the ball back.
  4. Jump on the support foot (left foot).
  5. Lift the foot of the ball to bring it in position to push the ball forward.
  6. Push the ball forward with the outside of the right foot (outside laces).
  7. Jump on the support foot (left foot).
  8. Reach for the ball with the ball of the left foot.
  9. Pull the ball back.
  10. Jump on the support foot (right foot).
  11. Lift the foot of the ball to bring it in position to push the ball forward.
  12. Push the ball forward with the outside of the left foot (outside laces).
  13. Jump on the support foot (right foot).
  14. Continue steps 2-13.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Bend the knee of the supporting foot a bit more on kicking the ball forward. This will help to keep the balance.
  3. Try to aim for the ball to reach the same spot on every push.
  4. Jump on the support foot for every action of the other foot (pull and push).
