When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Stand behind the ball (ball in front of right foot).
- Pass the ball to the wall with the inside of the right foot.
- Reposition fast to be lined up correctly to receive the ball with the right foot.
- Step forward to touch the ball with the inside of the right foot.
- Close in on the ball.
- Step on the ball with the sole of the right foot to stop it.
- Pull the ball backwards with the sole of the right foot.
- At the same time:
- Jump on the left foot (support foot) to reposition the right foot.
- Turn to the left.
- Pass the ball to the wall with the inside of the left foot.
- Reposition fast to be lined up correctly to receive the ball with the left foot.
- Step forward to touch the ball with the inside of the left foot.
- Close in on the ball.
- Step on the ball with the sole of the left foot to stop it.
- Pull the ball backwards with the sole of the left foot.
- At the same time:
- Jump on the right foot (support foot) to reposition the left foot.
- Turn to the right.
- Continue steps 2-15.
Things to watch out for:
- Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
- Reposition to receive the ball straight.
- Step forward upon receiving without swinging the leg. Timing is important.
- Touch the ball at the middle. Avoid to let it drop dead or jump away.
- Perform a step-on first, then pull.
- Turn in place fast while the ball travels in the opposite direction.
- Pull left -> turn right (and vice versa). This is the fastest way to turn without the need for an extra step in between.
