Reverse Cut Turn - Wall Work Drills for U12-U13

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball.
  2. Pass the ball to the wall with the inside of the right foot.
  3. Step forward into the ball after the rebound to touch it with the inside of the right foot.
  4. Close in on the ball.
  5. Place the left foot (support foot) right of the ball.
  6. At the same time:
    1. Reach with the right foot over the ball to cut it at the back with the laces of the right foot.
    2. Lift the support foot (left foot).
  7. Position the left foot backwards to get into starting position.
  8. Push the ball gently forward.
  9. Continue steps 2-8.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Maintain a straight line.
  3. Reposition fast to receive the ball straight on.
  4. Touch the ball in the centre of the ball at just the right time.
  5. Cut nicely at the back of the ball with the laces.
  6. Make sure the ball remains close after the cut.
  7. Begin slow and increase the speed gradually.
