Roll In Out Front Behind Roll Over - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

This drill is an extension of the Roll In Out Front Behind (Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11) and builds on the Roll In (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9), Roll Out (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9), Roll In Out (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9) and the Roll Over (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9).

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
  2. Roll out in front of left foot ( with the outside of right foot).
  3. At the same time:
    1. Jump forward on the support foot (left foot) to place it next to the ball.
    2. Roll in next to the left foot (with the inside of right foot).
  4. At the same time:
    1. Jump forward on the support foot (left foot) to place it in front of to the ball.
    2. Roll out behind the left foot ( with the tip of right foot).
  5. At the same time:
    1. Jump backwards on the support foot (left foot) to place it next to the ball.
    2. Roll in next to the left foot (with the inside of right foot).
  6. At the same time:
    1. Jump backwards on the support foot (left foot) to place it behind the ball.
    2. Roll over in front of left foot (with the outside of right foot).
  7. Continue steps 2-6 alternating between both feet.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Try to stay in the same rhythm.
  3. Keep contact with the ball at all times except after the roll over to switch between the feet.
