Practise the drills listed above first. As soon as they are mastered, then this drill will be easy to pick up as well, no matter how difficult it looks.
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
- Roll in and out with the right foot.
- Roll the ball over to the left.
- Close in on the ball.
- Perform a stepover with the left foot over the ball from left to right.
- Stop the ball with the tip/laces of the right foot behind the left foot which became the support foot.
- Roll the ball over from the left to the right behind the left foot.
- Stop the ball with the tip/laces of the left foot behind the right foot which became the support foot.
- At the same time:
- Jump backwards on the support foot (right foot) to place it next to the ball.
- Roll in next to the right foot (with the inside of left foot).
- Continue steps 2-9 in the other direction (switch left and right)
Things to watch out for:
- Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
- Try to stay on the same lateral line.
- Keep contact with the ball at all times except after the roll overs between the feet.
