Slide Behind - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11

Tutorial

When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
  2. Put the foot on top of the ball.
  3. Roll the ball out and 45° backwards with the right foot.
  4. At the same time:
    1. Make space for the ball by placing the support foot (left foot) forward.
    2. Slide the ball with the inside of the right foot behind the left foot.
  5. As soon as the ball is to the left of the left foot, roll the ball out and 45° backwards with the left foot.
  6. At the same time:
    1. Make space for the ball placing the support foot (right foot) forward.
    2. Slide the ball with the inside of the left foot behind the right foot.
  7. As soon as the ball is to the right of the left foot, roll the ball out and 45° backwards.
  8. Continue steps 4-7.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. Slide the ball passed and next to the support foot as close as possible without touching it.
