Slide Behind - Static Ball Control Drills for U10-U11
Tutorial
When starting with the right foot:
(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)
- Stand behind the ball (ball before right foot).
- Put the foot on top of the ball.
- Roll the ball out and 45° backwards with the right foot.
- At the same time:
- Make space for the ball by placing the support foot (left foot) forward.
- Slide the ball with the inside of the right foot behind the left foot.
- As soon as the ball is to the left of the left foot, roll the ball out and 45° backwards with the left foot.
- At the same time:
- Make space for the ball placing the support foot (right foot) forward.
- Slide the ball with the inside of the left foot behind the right foot.
- As soon as the ball is to the right of the left foot, roll the ball out and 45° backwards.
- Continue steps 4-7.
Things to watch out for:
- Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
- Slide the ball passed and next to the support foot as close as possible without touching it.
