Reverse Pull Behind Drag Roll 'V-90°' - Static Ball Control Drills for U12-U13

Tutorial

This drill builds on:

  • Drag Roll (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9)
When starting with the right foot:

(Switch left and right below when starting with the left foot)

  1. Stand behind the ball (at a 45° angle).
  2. Pull the ball with the left foot towards the laces of the right foot.
  3. Reposition the right foot to the left at a 90° angle.
  4. Line up the left foot behind the right foot to stop the ball with the inside of the left foot.
  5. Turn the right foot around the ball.
  6. Perform a Drag Roll with the right foot.
  7. Pull the ball with the right foot towards the laces of the left foot.
  8. Reposition the left foot to the right at a 90° angle.
  9. Line up the right foot behind the left foot to stop the ball with the inside of the right foot.
  10. Turn the left foot around the ball.
  11. Perform a Drag Roll with the left foot.
  12. Continue steps 2-11.

Things to watch out for:

  1. Don't stand rigid on the legs but flex the knees a bit.
  2. The Drag Roll should be a fluid motion.
  3. Keep the same angle of 90° at all times.
  4. Try to stop the ball completely behind the support foot.
  5. Begin slow and increase the speed gradually.
